Talent Program

Objective

The aim of the Talent Program is to seek out young and talented “people of the future”, and help them develop their knowledge and skills. The program is a kind of orientation opportunity for young employees who have been with the Group for at least a year, and who wish to become familiar with the operation of the company from a broader perspective and rise to new challenges in other areas through rotation or project work. It is important that participants become aware of and familiar with their own competencies, as well as get to know the different professional areas, processes, and specialists of the Group.

Methodology

The program begins with individual development counseling, in the course of which we assess the areas where the participant is advised to improve and the training courses he or she should take. Participants receive comprehensive feedback on their skill and ability assessment test, as well as a customized development program based on the results.

To develop a more thorough knowledge of the various areas of our activity, participants are involved in actual work processes during two rotation periods of two weeks, each spent at a different organizational unit of the company. Participants of the program are allocated personal budgets that they can freely divide up between training courses, books, conferences, or English language courses of their choice.

The program lasts for one year.

Professional Career Program

Objective

The goal of the Professional Career Program is to develop and circulate expertise within the Group, to identify and train outstanding experts, and to develop individual competence. Another important objective is that excellent professionals at the company get to know each other, and establish or develop professional collaborations.

Methodology

The program assists the professional development of participants by providing regular updates on training opportunities such as specialized training courses and conferences in their field, and by covering related expenses. It prepares participants for and supports them in effectively sharing information obtained through the program and “imported” to the company primarily with their immediate coworkers. To this end, the program incorporates a special, mandatory training session on presentation skills. Employees taking part in the program are also involved in project work, during which they can work together in various fields that are important to the company.

Career Program for Mechanics

Objective

The program was launched in the spring of 2004 with the participation of our employees working as mechanics. Performance Assessment forms the basis for participation in the program. Applicants can join the program if their assessed competencies as well as the quality and effectiveness of their work meet or surpass the pre-set requirements.

The career program provides an opportunity for mechanics with electricity or gas industry qualifications to learn to accomplish increasingly complex and complicated tasks, and to potentially be promoted to a higher position. The program also rewards the work of those who, thanks to their expertise or performance, make a crucial contribution in their positions. Participants of the career program shape their own careers through determination, energy, and motivation.

Methodology

Participants of the program receive points rewarding their qualifications, skills, and professional activities. These points can be used to move to a different position, or to become entitled to additional benefits financed by the company (such as working visits to another E.ON company, study trips abroad, or family holidays) as a reward for professional development. As part of the program, the Group’s electricity supply units launched the E.ON Master Electrician courses in 2005.
