E.ON Diamond Main Sponsor of Hungarian Olympic Team

Co-operation in the spirit of exceptional performance and engagement. E.ON Hungária Rt. and the Hungarian Olympic Committee have concluded a cooperation agreement according to which E.ON becomes the Diamond Main Sponsor for the Olympic period 2005-2008.

The new partnership between Hungary's leading energy supplier and the Hungarian Olympic Committee, which has celebrated its 110th anniversary, was announced by Konrad Kreuzer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of E.ON Hungária Rt. and Dr. Pál Schmitt, President of the Hungarian Olympic Committee at a ceremony attended by our Olympic champions.

Konrad Kreuzer pointed out "As one of the leading companies in Hungary, E.ON Hungária group takes its social role seriously. It is important for us to support activities and areas that do mean a lot to the Hungarian people, and such an area is sports. We are proud that, besides our history of many years of sport sponsorships, from now on we are also among the partners of the Hungarian Olympic Team, and the team could perform successfully in 2008 again together with the support of E.ON. The spirit and goals of the Olympics - drive for best performance, target-orientation and strong engagement - are values that are in harmony with E.ON's mission. As well.”

Pál Schmitt emphasized, “the magnitude of support provided by E.ON is outstanding in the history of the Hungarian Olympic Committee, and with the help of this support we are able to help our exceptional talents to prove themselves and can enrich our collection of medals with Olympic golds and medals in Peking as well. In E.ON, Hungarian sport has found a partner who has supported the participation of Hungarian sport in the ,,major league of sports” for years and now it also helps the Olympic sports so that the Olympic team can have the chance to continue being successful.”

At the ceremony to seal the commencement of the partnership and honour the efforts made for Hungarian sport, Dr. Pál Schmitt presented the "Diamond Prize", due for the Diamond Main Sponsor E.ON ,to Konrad Kreuzer.
