E.ON integrates its billing system
E.ON Energiaszolgáltató Kft is modernizing its billing system. The changes in the billing system are being made as part of E.ON's nationwide development activities.
The billing system at the E.ON Group's southwest Hungary gas provider is being revamped. This major development will make it possible to manage the data of all the Group's customers in a single integrated system. The changes, which affect nearly 300,000 of the provider's customers, will alter a lot of customer data. The identification number for the point of consumption is being changed to ten digits and will be called the partner number, and customers will be getting new contract numbers and new contract credit account numbers. Customers will have to refer to this new partner number when doing business in the future.
The integration of the billing system will affect the billing and customer service systems in the southwest Hungary gas provider's region (Baranya, Tolna and Fejér counties) from June 18 to July 21, 2008. The service provider will shut down the system from time to time during the changeover. All of the power and gas customers will be affected between July 4 and July 14, during which time the service provider will be able to provide its customers with partial customer services.
How will the changes in the billing system affect walk-in customer services and call center services in the southwest Hungary gas provider's region? How will these changes affect the way meter readings are reported?
The company's walk-in customer services and call center services will operate as usual during the changeover, but they will only be able to provide information on previously recorded data. Billing will stop completely in the southwest Hungary gas provider's region.
The manner and frequency in which meter readings are reported will not be affected. That is, customers who report their meter readings monthly will be able to report their meter readings in the usual way (e.g., by phone, on the Internet, by postcard).
The billing schedule and reading date will remain the same after the changeover. That is, they will occur in the usual way and at the usual time.
How will the service provider inform the customers of the changes? Where can customers get information about the changeover?
All of the natural gas customers in southwestern Hungary will receive a detailed letter about the changes being made, and the first bill to arrive after the system has been restarted will include information explaining it. In addition to all this, further information can be found on the customer service page of the service provider's website (www.eon-hungaria.com), and the service provider's employees are always ready to help customers.
