Our CSR Projects

The E.ON Hungária Group and its employees believe that Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is about working for society - both as a company and as individuals - through our basic business activity, social investments, charity programs and our dedication to the public interest. Support for the next generation, that is, children and youth and thereby building the future is perhaps E.ON's most important investment. Therefore we lay special emphasis on supporting health & sports, and on conveying the importance of quality culture and education.

  • Energy Experience
Under a cooperation agreement, effective until December 31, 2010, the education ministry and E.ON will launch a joint educational program that will include all of the elementary schools and high schools in Hungary. The aim of the program is to significantly increase energy awareness in Hungary in order to support sustainable development. E.ON's energy education program is a complex program that fosters creativity and emphasizes the development of the students' competence as well as their acquisition of information-based knowledge.
  • Camp Courage Foundation
E.ON Hungária has given tens of millions of forints to the Camp Courage Foundation, which helps to rehabilitate seriously ill and convalescing children. In addition to financial support, the company organizes handicraft workshops for the campers and their parents, as well as Santa Claus Day matinees for the children. Our employees also contributed to the construction of the E.ON Adventure Park, which opened in the camp in the summer of 2008.
  • The Hope Daycare Center
E.ON provides more than financial support. The Group also helps the Hope Daycare Center by buying the gifts the patients make and providing the center's musical ensemble with opportunities to perform. The Hope Daycare Center's holistic approach combines health, mental hygiene, education, training, social and occupational rehabilitation.
  • Power plant visits
Power plant visits offer children a close-up look at the energy generation processes they studied in the EnergiaKaland educational program. The visits are organized for young students, and feature interesting lessons by experts about the particular power plant and the work that is done there. By actually seeing the way a power plant works, children are able to see where energy comes from.
  • Protecting our national assets and our natural landscapes
A unique bird protection initiative, which has resulted in the removal of hazardous overhead power lines, has been carried out in the Hortobágy with E.ON's support. As a result of the project, which was implemented with EU co-financing, the Hortobágy National Park has recovered the landscape values that make it a World Heritage Site by taking down the transmission poles that clash with the landscape.
