The Győr Ballet

E.ON has been a committed sponsor of the Győr Ballet, the nationally and internationally renowned dance troupe led by János Kiss, since 1995.

There is an ever greater need for sponsors these days because government money for culture is drying up all around the world. Since the Győr Ballet’s budget is shrinking every year, support from E.ON and other sponsors has enabled the company to stage a series of outstanding productions and maintain the justly acknowledged high quality of its work. Such outstanding performances include the world premiere of “Gaudi” in 2008, which played several Hungarian venues and set off on a world tour to conquer Europe, America and Asia, and the troupe’s 30-year jubilee programs and premiere in 2009.

Every December one of the company’s dancers is presented with an award established by E.ON, which is one of the few dance awards that is both professionally prestigious and financially rewarding.

E.ON would like to use its financial support to help this fabulously successful company bring a few pleasant hours to people who love elegant music and dance and provide audiences with an unforgettable experience both in Hungary and abroad.
