E.ON to spend more than HUF 3 billion on development and maintenance projects in 2017 in Győr-Moson-Sopron County
Jun 12, 2017
Reliable operation, as few service interruptions as possible and meeting new energy needs in full: these are the goals that drive the E.ON Group’s network distribution company. More than 370 different development projects can be expected in the service area of the Győr Plant in 2017: the service provider will be replacing power lines and public lighting cables and building new ones at its own expense.
The Group operates, maintains and develops 7,536 km of power lines in Győr-Moson-Sopron County. This year E.ON will continue to spend significant amounts on the development and maintenance of the networks and will pay special attention to prevention: it will renovate the equipment and the networks before system disturbances begin to increase. This year the company will be spending over HUF 3 billion in total on the maintenance and development of the power network in the entire territory of Győr-Moson-Sopron County.
The projects will be implemented by daily coordination of the work of city management experts working in the region and E.ON’s engineers. E.ON is constantly monitoring the development plans of cities and communities in order to adjust the newest, most advanced technologies to their needs both in public lighting and in energy solutions for institutions.
The plans for development and reconstruction works continue to put particular emphasis on public lighting projects. As part of these efforts, the reconstruction of the public lighting network will continue in Győr. Our technicians have already completed the reconstruction work in Konini Street, which will be continued in Eötvös Park and then in Mihálkovics Lane. The entire public network will be reconstructed and the cables will be replaced in the city center in Sopron.
In addition to the improvement of public lighting, emphasis will be put on several development and maintenance jobs affecting the power grid that will allow the company to ensure and improve the reliability of supply.
The 132 kV feed-in pipelines of the 132/22 kV substation at the new Győr Industrial Park will be installed as part of this development, for which a new route will be planned and licensed. The costs of the investment is expected to reach HUF 271 million. The Dunapart substation will be replaced this year in Győr and a new substation will be built in Fertőszentmiklós. In addition, several other development projects will be launched in order to supply energy for the residential communities being built now, including the Egeredi Hill residential community in Sopron, the Green residential community in Dunasziget and Rajka as well as a residential community in Mosonmagyaróvár.
This year the service provider will give special attention to the preparations for the EYOF to be held in July in order to be able to meet the extra energy needs at several locations: the wrestling hall, the Kossuth block, the temporary training camp in Simor Square and the temporary mobile homes. The total cost of these investment projects will be over HUF 125 million.
Renewal at E.ON
Focus on the future and a shift to new business areas represent an important milestone in E.ON’s life. The ability to innovate can be seen not only in technology but also in the business and the services provided for customers.
“Although E.ON is traditionally seen as an energy company, we view ourselves and our tasks in a more complex way. Energy means a different thing to everyone, from households to corporate customers: it can represent comfort, production power, security, good general mood and freedom of creation. We want to provide complex energy solutions to meet these needs,” stressed Ferenc Csulak, CEO of E.ON Észak-dunántúli Áramhálózati Zrt.
The E.ON Group’s international and domestic business is based on sustainability as a strategic goal. The company strives to offer a more comfortable lifestyle with less environmental load as well as more energy-efficient services, providing its partners with a better customer experience by its sustainable products from green energy through e-mobility to digitalization and smart homes. E.ON intends to become a leading company in the new, modern energy world by working on the best possible solutions in key areas of the future for a more livable tomorrow.
